In this beginner-friendly workshop, participants will learn about Risograph printing and its most accessible process.
Through collage, drawing, and other analog techniques, participants will create physical master sheets. These will then be turned into two-color prints using the machine’s scanner bed, layering them on top of each other. Collaboration and experimentation with other students is encouraged, as the printed results will vary depending on the ink colors and type of analog processes used.
At the end of the workshop, each participant will walk away with a brief history of Risograph printing, an in-depth understanding of how the Risograph printer works, and 25 11”x17” two-color prints.
No prior printmaking or artistic experience is necessary. All materials will be provided, and no preparation is needed. If you want to get a head start, feel free to bring a drawing in black and white media on 11”x17” paper!
This workshop will be held on Saturday, January 24th, from 1:30-4:30pm.
Tickets are $75 per student. Each workshop is 3 hours long, and held in person at Pet Riso Studio in the Bok Building (821 Dudley St. Entrance). No refunds or exchanges are available at this time. The maximum class size is 10 people.
